Oktoberfest 2013 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza

Mark your calendars for this year’s most authentic beer festival in the Philippines, Oktoberfest 2013 on the 18th and 19th of October at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila’s newly renovated Harbor Garden Tent.

“It is our pleasure to play host to this year’s 75th Oktoberfest at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza on its’ fourth year.  Through the years, we have seen how Oktoberfest has helped promote camaraderie among the Filipinos and Germans,”says Adam Laker, Sofitel Philippine Plaza General Manager.  “This year’s 75th anniversary of the German Club’s Oktoberfest will be a milestone not only for the German Club but also for the Club’s objectives of promoting the Philippines as valuable destination for investment to German businesses.” says the Oktoberfest Chairman, Michael Scheile.

Over 3,500 guests got caught up in the Oktoberfest fever last year where more than 28,548 liters of beer, 950 kgs of German sausages, 260 kgs of pork knuckles and 200 kgs of sauerkraut were consumed in a span of two days.
This year’s Oktoberfest will have an even grander spread of authentic Bavarian cuisine and music by the “Bavarian Sound Express” from Munich, well-known from previous Oktoberfests in Manila. They will definitely make every guest sing and dance all night long. In celebration of the 180th year of the Oktoberfest worldwide, the Harbor Garden Tent will be decorated in the Bavarian colors - white and blue. Authentic Oktoberfest tables and benches will be set up to give a festive beer garden fair setting. A colorful Bavarian culinary spread will be prepared by Sofitel Philippine Plaza’s Executive Chef Eric Costille supported by the German Club Chefs. The traditional Oktoberfest food will be served such as fresh roasted pork knuckles, roasted calf, laugen rolls, grilled German sausages and mouth-watering pastries paired with refreshing, ice cold San Miguel beer free flowing for all to enjoy. Ladies in dirndl and gentlemen in their Lederhosen will be adding to the Oktoberfest spirit.
One of the best live bands in Manila. The Bloomfields will be rocking the house with their retro 60s music when they perform on the 19th of October.
After reveling all night long, get a restful sleep at Sofitel Philippine Plaza.  The hotel is offering special rates for Oktoberfest ticket holders at Php 5,000 nett for a superior room. Wake up to a hearty and lavish Spiral breakfast for an additional Php 1,200 nett per person.
Adding excitement to this year’s grand celebration is the raffle draw with over 4 million worth of prizes.  Exciting prizes include a roundtrip business class ticket to Germany with Etihad, Mercedes Benz weekend drives with overnight stay in Baguio, laptops, DSL cameras from Canon, I-pads from Mac, Levis jeans, Puma shirts and many more. Proceeds go to the German Club’s welfare projects.
